. Inside the Orion Nebula High Resolution Image Reveals New Details of Orion Nebulae The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has taken a striking high resolution image of the curious planetary nebula NGC 6210. Located about 6500 light-years away, in the constellation of Hercules, NGC 6210 was discovered in 1825 by the German astronomer Friedrich Georg Wilhelm Struve. Although in a small telescope it appears only as a tiny disc, it is fairly bright. NGC 6210 is the last gasp of a star slightly less massive than our Sun at the final stage of its life cycle

The Pillars of Creation are a famous portion of the Eagle Nebula (NGC 6611) that have put astronomers of all sorts in awe since the Hubble Space Telescope first displayed the exquisite detail of their unique shape and colors. Recently Hubble trained its powerful lenses on it once again providing an updated and clearer view of this wondrous star-forming structure creating the high resolution mosaic depicted here. Astronomers Take Sharpest Photos Ever of the Night Sky - Equipped with the newly developed MagAO adaptive optics system, the 6.5 meter Magellan Telescope revealed details about the Orion nebula. The background image, taken with the Hubble Space Telescope, shows the Trapezium cluster of young stars (pink) still in the process of forming. Hubble Sees a Horsehead of a Different Color Unlike other celestial objects there is no question how the Horsehead Nebula got its name. This iconic silhouette of a horse's head and neck pokes up mysteriously from what look like whitecaps of interstellar foam.
